Some more sketchin'

Just a lizard creature.  A reptilian if you will.  I've have heard some wild theories based on the idea that there is a race of evolved reptilian species that works as a parasitic organism.  But it's wild, and I'm not sure what to think of it.  Definitely interesting that's for sure.

Commissioned artwork

I was contacted by a client to create this piece to symbolize the challenges of a marriage and the ultimate road to paradise that a marriage is.  A very sentimental piece indeed.

Mushroom city work in progress

This was a theme for a group on facebook known as "spitpaint".  The catch is you take one of several themes and see what you can create in 30 mins.  It's very challenging and there are individuals that do out of this world pieces. It's like magic to me.  But It's very fun as well.  This one is based off of the theme of Mushroom city.  I think i'm about an 1.5 hours into it.  I was really getting into it and hope that I can push myself to get something final.  Otherwise it'll just end up in the work in progress stash.  So many ideas, so little time.  tisk tisk.

Warm up

Revving up the engine for some serious illustration work.  Played a bit with the filters and just having fun while I work.

light studies

Working on my light studies.  Just grabbed some objects, toys in this case, and placed a lightsource.  It's a bit more challenging than just working off a photo.  But a great learning experience.

Dino hunter

I was trying to make this a speed paint, but I ended up spending about 1.5 hrs possibly on this.  I don't know how some of the bigger dogs do it, it seems like magic to me.  They can get so much detail, basically painting an elaborate scene in a matter of 30 mins.  I guess like anything else, just practice, dedication, time, and a magic wand.  Well, I try not to take it too seriously, as it's all about having fun.  Just gotta keep truckin.

Robot sketching

It's a beautiful Saturday morning here in Chicago.  Just relaxin' gettin' my creative juices flowin.  I love drawing me some robots from time to time.  So much fun to just get loose and not worry about being too accurate.  Just really letting my imagination run wild.  Gonna see if I can get a few more down before the end of the day.  But, what are you're thoughts on robots?  Are they gonna take over the world?  I sure hope so...
