Robot sketching

It's a beautiful Saturday morning here in Chicago.  Just relaxin' gettin' my creative juices flowin.  I love drawing me some robots from time to time.  So much fun to just get loose and not worry about being too accurate.  Just really letting my imagination run wild.  Gonna see if I can get a few more down before the end of the day.  But, what are you're thoughts on robots?  Are they gonna take over the world?  I sure hope so...

Character concept

Client work based on a character for a work in progress comic project.  I'm getting a storm/ghost vibe from this one.  I'm personally pleased to how it came out.  Still got lot's of work to go with this project.  I'll keep the audience posted on the lastest work.  Thanks for viewing.

Trainline client work

Here's my latest artwork for a project that I've been helping out with for some time now.  It's a boardgame based on the public transportation experience.  I really wanted to have fun with these and get wacky with the characters and art.  The public transportation experience can be a very hectic experience at times, so making art based on my personal experience is actually very refreshing.  Having to overhear unwanted conversations, loud mouthed characters is just one of those experiences that makes you question the sanity of people.  But I think life is nothing to take too seriously, and looking at it with a sense of humor is important.  Why not make a game out of it right?  Anyways, I hope you enjoy these visuals.  I'll have more information on the game itself as it develops.  Thanks for stopping by.  Til the next time folks.

work in progress sketch

Some personal work I have going.  I'm still having a hard time finishing my landscape pieces.  Backgrounds can get pretty intensive, but I have to keep at it.  Just let my imagination run wild.

Magneto sketch

So I got to check out that new x-men movie over the weekend.  I gotta say, they did a really good job on that.  Magneto has always been one of my favorite characters, but I generally love all the x-men characters, especially from the 90's era.  It's what I grew up on, so there's that affinity there.  But, it's always fun to draw everyones favorite mutants when I'm on a creative slump.

landscape studies

These really get me outta my comfort zone.  I'm used to doing lots of figure drawing, but I'm learning a great deal with these.  Gotta keep going and learning.

Calling it a night

Some photorealism studies.  I enjoy trying to achieve that natural, traditional painterly look.  It's a very fun style to work in.  In this case, I can work very loosely.

The sounds of color

I was trying to get something dynamic going with this one, but I moved on.  This will stay an unfinished idea.
I had fun experimenting with colors on this one.  You can't go wrong with a hot babe aiming a gun.  Ahhhh good times.

Birthday sketch

So I heard of HR Gigers passing yesterday and wanted to pay an homage to the alien design.  I'm not particularly familiar with his history or work, but that alien design really left a mark on all things sci fi.  The creature design is classic.  Well, here's my sketch of that famous design.  A really fun design to work on.  Thanks for viewing.  PS happy birthday to me!!

spidey sketch

A quick background study.  Just threw spiderman in there.  Or was it the other way around?
